Many years ago, before your great grandparents were born, the world was quite a different place. People lived in small groups of cottages, often surrounded by deep woods. The only way to travel was on foot, or on horseback, and your journey could be long and dangerous. Parents worried about their children straying into the forest, so they told them stories of fairies and elves, good and bad, to keep them away from the danger.

Our tale tells the story of Tom and Holly, one night Tom visits the forest to catch food for the family and meets some of the characters in the forest he has only heard about in tales told by the fireside.
