Colour Heroes began its journey with a range of educational history books nearly 20 years ago. Our aim was to educate and inspire children to learn more about history in a fun and informative way. Our range of history books cover prehistoric Britain to modern day and include popular periods such as Roman Britain, Anglo-Saxons, Vikings, Medieval Britain, Tudors, Victorians and both World Wars. We also offer a range of 20 books which are made up of four collections.

The A Heroes’ History of… series provides children aged 8+ with the National Curriculum-focussed historical facts they need alongside the fascinating bites of funny trivia that they enjoy. The chronological nature of the series from Prehistoric Britain to Modern Britain, provides a comprehensive and detailed timeline and an overview of all the major historical periods.

The A Heroes’ History of... series combines effective learning with constructive entertainment. A Heroes’ Look at Natural History leads children aged 5+ on an exploratory trail through diverse time periods and environments to discover a wide variety of wildlife and habitats both current and long gone. From the beach to the back garden, A Heroes’ Look at Nature goes on a story adventure to seek a dragon, facilitating fact-based scientific learning on biodiversity and care of the environment. A Heroes’ Look at the Dinosaurs seeks to dispel myths and offers key scientific facts about a range of prehistoric pterosaurs, sauropods and theropods, along with discussion on DNA, palaeontology and extinction.

Our Sticker Books contain key biographical facts embedded with wider historical contexts, this series of four books provides children aged 5+ with a knowledge base of people and events that have shaped history and heritage from 55BC to 1901. The targeted vocabulary, accessible narrative and stimulating activities encourage independent reading and evidence evaluation in direct response to the national curriculum skills base, whilst the colouring pages and stickers sustain interest and fun. Key figures include a range of monarchs and key political, social and artistic figures such as Guy Fawkes, Lord Nelson, Florence Nightingale and William Shakespeare.

The Our Heroes series presents informative guides to Scotland and ancient Celtic Britain for children aged 8+. Key facts about historical events, places and people are combined with stories from oral traditions and cultural heritage to build reference tools that include key elements such as Boudica, King Arthur, William Wallace, Robert Burns, the kingdom of Rheged, the Acts of Union and customs such as Highland flings and haggis.
